Dear Club Member
THANK YOU!
In 2011, Abercrombie Country Club and its members, in collaboration with 1,500 other member clubs and over 340,000 individuals from coast to coast, helped to grow the game in many ways:
· Delivering Golf in Schools to 1,248 elementary schools across the country, including 33 in the province of Nova Scotia;
· Introducing thousands of children to the sport each year through CN Future Links Learn to Play - Canada's national junior golf program, including 7 sites in the province of Nova Scotia;
· Advocating to federal and provincial legislatures on behalf of our member clubs and the Canadian golf industry - communicating the economic benefits of golf as well as the implications of current taxation laws affecting our industry;
· Celebrating such Canadian talents as Maude-Aimée LeBlanc of Sherbrooke Que., Adam Hadwin of Abbotsford B.C., Jessica Shepley of Oakville Ont. and the many graduates of Team Canada - the pinnacle of our provincial and national player development strategy;
· Contributing more than $250,000 to Canadian post-secondary students and golf programs across the country;
· Hosting 220 Golf Fore the Cure events across the country - close to 18,000 female golfers participated and helped raise more than $800,000 in support of breast cancer research, including 7 events in Nova Scotia;
· Posting over 8 million scores - helping to make golfcanada.ca Canada's most viewed source for golf news.
None of these successes would be possible without the support of our proud member clubs. As the golf season comes to a close, we ask that you consider sharing this news with your members, either through your newsletter, website or other communications channels.
We are grateful for your continued support in what was a very challenging year for our industry in 2011. As the national and provincial sport organizations, Golf Canada and the Nova Scotia Golf Association are committed to serving our member clubs and golfers from coast to coast.
Thank you for helping to grow the game we love.
